First, we drove from Ohio to Washington DC. <\/span><\/p>\nWith that said, people from out-of-state will be able to attend too! <\/span><\/p>\nLuckily for us, my brother lives there (which gave us free lodging, lol). <\/span><\/p>\nWhen I applied, I picked the most inconvenient time I felt that most people would not want to attend first. <\/span><\/p>\nThat was group A and gates opened at 6:45. <\/span><\/p>\nAt first, my husband and I planned for our family to be at the Easter Egg Roll an hour early but I am so glad we didn’t arrive that early. <\/span><\/p>\nIn fact, it would have driven us bored standing in line and I know my kids would have needed to pee! <\/span><\/p>\nNeedless to say, arriving early would not have benefited us. <\/span><\/p>\nAlso, there are plenty of porta-potties outside the event as well as bathroom trailers inside. <\/span><\/p>\nThe lines weren’t too terribly long for the bathrooms in group A.<\/span><\/p>\nAfter you get through security, you’ll proceed to line up. <\/span><\/p>\nThere were about 12 lines. <\/span><\/p>\nI highly suggest picking the first line all the way to the right.<\/span><\/p>\n Volunteers opened that line first! <\/span><\/p>\nPeople must have known it was the line picked first because it was a VERY long line so the rest of us all had to wait for a while.<\/span><\/p>\nTo be honest, I think more people were coming into that line as they were walking in and got to proceed into the egg hunt before the rest of us waiting. <\/span><\/p>\nWhich in my opinion got frustrating for those that have waited longer.<\/span><\/p>\nHowever, if we go back again I would definitely still pick that first line. <\/span><\/p>\nAfter the first line, they proceeded with two more lines (all the way to the right) and then start allowing the guests on the opposite side (left side) to proceed. <\/span><\/p>\nI think the worst place to stand would be in the middle. <\/span><\/p>\nLuckily, our line was let in 5th out of 12. <\/span><\/p>\nGetting technical here, lol. <\/span><\/p>\nThat line was the third from the left-hand side. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/span>What to Wear for the White House Easter Egg Roll<\/span><\/span><\/h3>\nHowever, before I jump too far ahead. <\/span><\/p>\nI want to fill you in on what to wear to the egg roll at the White House. <\/span><\/p>\nIf you are anything like me, you’ll probably drive yourself nuts on what to wear to the big event. <\/span><\/p>\nIn fact, I personally felt that this may be the only chance we get to visit the White House and I didn’t want to miss the Photo Opportunities. <\/span><\/p>\nI started thinking and shopping early. <\/span><\/p>\nIn conclusion, my family dressed up. <\/span><\/p>\nMy daughters wore matching dresses (with sparkly tennis shoes) and my son wore a red, white, and blue button-up shirt with jeans and tennis shoes. <\/span><\/p>\nMy husband wore a polo and jeans. <\/span><\/p>\nFor myself, I wore a dressy white top with sheer, gray dress pants, and comfortable flat dress shoes. <\/span><\/p>\nTennis shoes are important! <\/span><\/p>\nMe personally, I don’t recommend walking around in heels because 90% of the time you’re in the South Lawn. <\/span><\/p>\nAs a matter of fact, below you will find a picture of our family at the 2019 Easter Egg Roll at the White House.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n![\"\"](\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.getyourholidayon.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/white-house-easter-egg-roll-2019.jpg?resize=500%2C750&ssl=1\")
