Nothing screams summer quite like the refreshing, juicy bite of watermelon. But why settle for slices when you can transform this favorite fruit into something even more enchanting? Watermelon on a stick isn’t just a treat; it’s a magical experience perfect for any summer celebration.

Summer fruit pops made out of watermelon star wand.

Watermelon Star Wands: A Twinkle of Taste

Imagine holding a wand that not only sparkles with whimsy but also bursts with flavor. That’s the magic of the Watermelon star wand—a delightful twist on the classic way to enjoy this summer staple. Whether it’s adding a dash of charm to the 4th of July festivities, creating memorable moments at a fairytale gathering, bringing wizard parties to life, or simply enticing kids to delight in fun fruits, the star-shaped watermelon on a stick is your go-to party food this season.

Prepare to dazzle your guests and make eating fruit an enchanting experience. Grab some skewers, and let’s turn watermelons into stars!

Watermelon Star Wand

We love these watermelon star wands. There are so many creative ways to make fresh fruit kabobs. If you haven’t seen how daring this shark mouth carving is, it is a must-see for sure! Plus, these watermelon Christmas trees are fun for Christmas in July.

A Watermelon star wand is very easy to make, and here are the following items needed.

This magic wand fruit pop turned into a watermelon star wand is a fun party food idea.

Supplies

  • Watermelon
  • Knife
  • Cutting board
  • Cake Pop Sticks
  • Blueberries
  • Black Grapes
  • Star Cookie Cutter

Get ready to learn how to make a watermelon star wand with these easy steps!

How to make star shapes in watermelon.
  1. Cut the watermelon in half and then in slices.
  2. Take a star cookie cutter and make star cutouts of the watermelon.
  3. We added blueberries and black grapes to the cake stick. We choose to add six blueberries because they were smaller and four black grapes. After all, they were a little bigger, and that was the amount that could fit on our stick. 🙂
  4. Lastly, you will add the cutout star-shaped watermelon to the top of the cake stick, and this will become your magic watermelon wand.
It turns into a Watermelon Star Wand or a watermelon fruit wand whichever you prefer.

This idea is so fun for a kid’s party, but even adults get a kick out of it too. I didn’t come up with this idea but was inspired by a birthday party I attended with fun-shaped watermelon wands.

If you look the idea up on Pinterest, you will find some really cool ideas that people have put together. For example, I saw fruit kabobs made out of grapes, strawberries, and watermelon and even fruit wands with cheese incorporated into them.

Fruit wands that are watermelon.

I hope you find a way to cut your fruit into fun shapes. Suppose you haven’t seen how to build a Mr. Potato head out of fruit. This is too cool for school!

We all want to surprise our pre k students, but sometimes we just don’t know the right way to do it. Celebrating the end of the school year great thing, but how do you do it correctly?

Fear not!

This guide will teach you everything you need to know about the last day of preschool and how to celebrate the right way. By the time you’re done reading, you’ll be a pro at showing your preschooler some appreciation in the most kind way possible.

Do children really care? Which pre k activities make the best memories?

Read on to find out.

Last day of preschool ideas for parents, teachers, and kids.

Leaving Preschool for the Last Time

Making memories on the last day of preschool is a special experience. The final day or graduation day is typically exciting and sad for a pre-k kid.

Aside from learning how to identify names in print, state first and last names, sort objects by colors, shapes, and sizes, and many other skills were learned during the school year by your child.

Children are a lot more excited about their first summer break when they are doing things that are geared towards preparing them for the last day of school.

As a parent or guardian, being able to congratulate your child on this achievement is an extremely meaningful event. In addition, thanking your children’s teachers and staff is not only appropriate, but also extremely meaningful.

The last day of preschool is the perfect excuse to have a summer break party. Here are summer party ideas, preschool graduation ideas, and last-day-of-nursery-school ideas.

Preschool Last Day of School Ideas: How to Make it Special

Students are getting restless, and teachers are counting down the days until summer break. Find out how to celebrate your child’s special day using these ideas:

#1 – Spectacular Kids’ Breakfast

Breakfast is an important part of preparing for the school day. The breakfast meal could include kid-friendly pancakes, their favorite cereal, or a special dish.

The perfect way to create a pancake they won’t forget is to turn them into an animal, such as a unicorn, a piggy, or Olaf.

#2 – LAST DAY OF SCHOOL LUNCH IDEAS

Prepare a fun themed lunch for preschoolers. Consider incorporating their favorite character, yellow for a sunshine theme, or small cutters for fruit and vegetables.

Alternatively, you could use bread and cheese shapes to decorate the sandwich, or use cupcake liners for fruits and veggies.

#3 – Last Day of Preschool Sign

Do not forget to make a DIY sign or print one out so that you can cherish these memories for years to come. If your child is finishing up preschool, have him or her hold a sign that says, “My Last Day of Preschool.”

What to include on your last day of preschool sign?

  • Name
  • Child’s Favorite Color
  • Date
  • Favorite Food
  • Best Friend
  • Teacher’s Name
  • School Attended

Fun Tip!

Don’t have the time to make your own sign? Towards the end of this post, you will find a last day of pre k free printable that could be helpful to you!

School Year End Activities: 5 Excellent Ideas

Your preschooler will feel so special and loved when you plan a fun afternoon filled with activities with them. Take a look at these five super fun activities:

1. Make a Banner to Kick off Summer Break

You can prepare ahead of time a “Welcome to Summer” sign, sand toys, water toys, bubbles, and a bucket of water balloons for your child whenever he/she comes home from the bus.

If you’re looking for an alternative to banners, these streamers are definitely a lot of fun – and I’m 100% serious. I plan to use them again in 2022. I usually use two of my children’s favorite colors or the school colors to promote school spirit.

2. Dollar Store Ideas

Even cans of Goofy string are a fun surprise. You can pick those up at the dollar tree in a variety of colors. In addition, you will also find glow in the dark bracelets and snacks for movie night. Homemade invitations to a movie night are a great way to provide the kids with a special experience, and it is inexpensive too.

3. Battle of the Water Balloons

Are you familiar with Bunch O Balloons? Buncho balloons are so popular because you can fill 100 of them in 60 seconds with a water hose. We also suggest inflating pool floats to surprise the kids when they get home so they have a big surprise waiting for them. Click here for more information on water balloon parties

4. Preschool Graduation

A cap and gown is the perfect way to make a memorable graduation day for kids in their very first graduation celebration ever. No matter if the child is home-schooled, attends a daycare or is in a public school, a diploma is a great memory for both parent and child.

5. What’s the best backyard party idea?

You will need an enormous water slide like this if you want to go really BIG, I mean the talk of the neighborhood. It is a last-day-of-school surprise that will shock every parent, kid, and teacher! What kind of face would your child have when they came home to their very own water park?

Conclusion

Doing special things like adding balloons, streamers, and other summer party decorations to your porch is a thoughtful preschool graduation gift.

Spending time with your soon to be kindergartener is a great idea, whether it is making Root Beer floats, or treating the kids to new pool floats.

GO YOU for being awesome and doing something special for your kids. Just being there and making their day extra special will go a long way.

Check out these fun sources for more fun! Pancake ideas for breakfast include a Unicorn and Piggy pancake. One of the most hilarious field day games for kids is this bigfoot game where you wear giant feet and have to walk across the lawn balancing balls on your toes, it’s so hilarious preschools everywhere are playing it. Plus, grab your free printable sign for the last day and get ideas for DIY sign ideas here!

Last day of school faqs for parents and teachers.

Last Day of School FAQs

Get ready to learn the best last day of school faqs to help your kids enjoy the end of the school year better. I am a mom and foster mama who loves creating fun ideas to do with my kids. Helping others to create family time and memories is a passion of mine. Therefore, you may find these ideas helpful in your quest. Top 10 Ways to Make the Last Day more Fun, last day of school sign ideas, Last Day of Preschool ideas, and the best hashtags for graduation.

What day will school end?

Our local school district has the last day of school posted on their academic calendar. To find this, you can typically find the calendar through googling your school’s website online, www, etc. This will give you insight into the duration of school days, holidays, and the duration of the breaks.

Even at the beginning of the school year, my children start to look at the academic calendar online to see what days they get out for early dismissal, a holiday, or out for the summer.

How many weeks long is summer break?

One thing is certain it doesn’t matter if you live in Atlanta, Georgia, Waverly, Ohio, or Lansing, Michigan. The final hours to the end of school are looked forward to by almost every individual student. Therefore, most students want to know how long summer break is, and depending on your district; the average summer break is around 10 weeks.

Our school lets out at the end of May and returns in the middle of August. However, other school districts end in June and return to school in Mid-August or after Labor Day. This will depend on the region or state you reside.

What to do on the Last Day of Primary School?

Years ago, most people didn’t really celebrate the last day of school for their kids because it just wasn’t a big thing.

However, now that Pinterest and crafty moms have become the new trend. Parents left, and right are discovering fun ways to celebrate the end of the school year for their primary and elementary education students.

We recommend hosting a party to celebrate your children’s accomplishments, taking the kids out for ice cream, or making summer bucket lists to do with your family.

What to do on the last day of Middle School?

This age group counts the weeks, days, and hours left of middle school. When they first get off the bus, greeting them would depend on the student’s personality because they could get easily embarrassed.

However, in my own personal and professional experience of throwing the last day of school party, my kids have loved it.

This includes getting off the bus and running into streamers, taking them out for a fun family outing, or waving giant pool floats with Five and Below gift cards attached to them. I’ll share more about that with you in a moment.

What do you say to students on the last day of school?

When it comes to parents, faculty, and staff, it is important to congratulate students on the last day of school. Let them know that this is another accomplishment added to the list of amazing things they’ve already done.

The sky is the limit for what they can do. If you are a teacher and this will be the last time you will have them in your class. Please give them a lasting farewell message that will be a positive last memory with you. For example, the following farewell messages are great!

  • Thank you for being part of my class. I’ve loved getting to know you, and he or she will be missed.
  • Your future is going to be rich, rewarding, and kind.
  • I will miss you because…
  • Good Luck at your new school!
  • Your new school is lucky to have you because…

What to do on the last day of high school?

When the bell rings, you know those high schoolers make a mad dash for the door. When it comes to teachers, be sure to give your students again a message that they’ll never forget. Parents plan a fun surprise for them with a gift, decorate their car (or have them decorate their own vehicle), cook them their favorite dinner, or take them out for a family outing.

End of the School Year Celebrations

This is what we did this year for our elementary students, soon-to-be middle schooler, and our freshmen in high school. The results were very positive, and each of our kiddos was grateful.

Ideas for end of the school year celebrations for elementary students, middle schooler, and a high school student on the last day of school.

Before our children got off the school bus, we bought pool floats and inflated them. We picked each of the kids a pool float that we knew they would enjoy. Our third-grade daughter and her best friend received a giant donut pool float, our 6th-grade son got a jet float, my high school daughter got a watermelon popsicle, and her friend got a bohemian pool float.

This made pool float and gift card made for a fun gift for an end-of-the-year surprise.

A great gift for the end of the year surprise is a Pool float and gift card.

We also attached a $5.00 gift card to Five and Below to each floats for an added surprise. When the kids got off of the school bus, each of them got to run through streamers. My kids love running through streamers, and this year I chose to use maroon and gold for their school colors.

Tip: When surprising your child with running through streamers, I recommend using two streamers (one of each color) because it is easier to run through it. I personally allow my kids to run through the streamers multiple times after that because it is just fun for them.

The nice thing for photo ops is that the weather in May and June is that it is often mostly sunny with high temperatures. This makes great photos outside when the kids get off the school bus.

Garden Scavenger Hunt Printable

It’s finally spring, and the kids are so happy to be planting seeds in the garden. We love watching fruits and vegetables grow.

Watching plants grow is almost a kid’s garden treasure hunt in itself. The participation of finding seeds turn into a tomato or a pumpkin is a prize in itself.

However, to add even more excitement to the growing of our garden.

We decided to make our very own Garden Scavenger hunt.

The first thing we did was turn paper plates into vegetables using duct tape. We made all sorts of fruit and vegetables, including but not limited to tomatoes, eggplant, watermelon, and carrots.

garden vegetables and fruit such as a tomato, eggplant, watermelon, and carrots.

The adults in charge (this could be an older child or a teen) went outside ahead of time and placed a fruit or vegetable on multiple trees, in bushes, and hidden in the grass.

Each kid or adult participating in the scavenger hunt will receive a free printable that you can grab below through the link.

Garden Scavenger hunt for adults and kids.

That’s not all! Our family loves garden crafts, nature hunts, and making super cool garden dishes! Another fun craft that turned out really cool is these flower hands.

Suppose you would like to add additional items to the list. We suggest the following summer garden scavenger hunt ideas.

  • Butterfly
  • Leaf
