Who is Sasquatch?

Have you heard of Bigfoot, aka Sasquatch? This elusive and hairy mythical creature is a legend that some say roams North American forests, especially in the Pacific Northwest. It’s a star in both American and Canadian folklore and has become a beloved figure in pop culture.

How is Bigfoot usually described?

This elusive creature is said to be a towering bipedal primate, standing between 6 to 15 feet tall! Don’t get too close, though, as folks say it has a funky odor and glides like a ninja or howls through the trees. If you ever spot Sasquatch, keep your eyes peeled for its colossal footprints, which can measure up to 24 inches long!

Who was the first person to see Bigfoot?

Legend has it that way back in 1811, a British explorer named David Thompson was the first to stumble upon Sasquatch footprints. Since then, many have claimed to spot the elusive creature on camera, but the evidence remains a mystery, like a big foot-shaped enigma.

Is the Sasquatch real?

Ever since the first supposed sighting of Sasquatch footprints in 1811, legions of folks have claimed to have seen the elusive creature or even have photographic evidence of its existence. Yet, the scientific community has remained skeptical, pointing out that no one has ever presented a bonafide Sasquatch body or other reliable proof. So, the mystery remains unsolved, and the hunt for Bigfoot continues!

A game that’s hairy, scary, and oh-so-funny: Bigfoot!

This first game is perfect for family game night or any gathering with friends. Not only will it have everyone laughing, but it also encourages teamwork and friendly competition. The wacky oversized feet add an extra challenge to the game, making it even more fun and exciting.

Christmas Song Relay

Here’s a fun holiday game for the whole family called Christmas Song Relay. Divide everyone into two teams, the “first team” and the “second team,” and write various Christmas songs and holiday-themed challenges on paper plates.

Each team takes turns drawing a paper plate from the pile. They then have a set time limit (e.g., 2 minutes) to complete the challenge on the plate. Challenges might involve singing a Christmas song, acting out holiday-themed lyrics, or answering holiday trivia questions.

Teams work together to complete these tasks in the right place, such as singing in the living room or performing charades in the dining area. Points are awarded for each completed challenge, and extra points can be given for displaying extra Christmas spirit.

After all the challenges are completed, tally the points to determine which team is the ultimate holiday game champion. This game is a great way to spread the Christmas spirit and enjoy much fun with your family!

Small Group Party Game Idea

For a fun Christmas party game that’s perfect for small groups, try combining the classic ‘Santa Says’ with a festive twist! In this game, one person acts as Santa Claus and gives commands like ‘spin a hula hoop’ or ‘do a jingle bell toss.’

Younger kids love the challenge, and you can mix it up by adding different items, like a piece of paper with holiday tasks. The best part?

You can get creative with different ways to play, and the first person to complete the tasks in the allotted time wins. It’s the perfect game for this time of year to keep everyone entertained!

Christmas Train Adventure Race:

For a lively Christmas party game, set up a series of stations around the room, each themed with festive activities. Start with the whole class divided into teams for a little friendly competition. The first station could be a memory game where they match Christmas cards with corresponding Christmas train sounds.

At the next station, they might race to assemble a mini Christmas train, and then move on to a reindeer game where they complete a fun challenge, like “reindeer relay” or “pin the nose on Rudolph.”

Each station should represent a different world of Christmas cheer, immersing the children in various festive games.

The final station offers a cozy treat: a cup of hot chocolate for each player. The team that completes all the stations first wins a special Christmas prize. This will tye the entire adventure into the Christmas party theme.

Make a Christmas Tree Game: How to Play

There are many preschool Christmas games for kids that both teachers and parents can use to engage their students and children this holiday season. “Make a Christmas Tree,” for instance, is a fun game for kids between the ages of 4 and 8.

Instructions:

  2. Then, each child will receive a gift bow for the star and buttons resembling ornaments.
  3. There will be a cool Christmas prize for the child who finishes their tree the fastest.
Set a timer for a minute and have the kids make a tree out of green playdoh and a trunk out of brown dough. In that round, the first child who makes a full tree wins. Another minute on the clock, and everyone races to add buttons to represent ornaments, followed by a Christmas bow for a tree top. That round's winner wins a Christmas prize.

POP ME: The Christmas Balloon Game

“Pop Me” is a fun Christmas game for older kids and teens.

For a small group, you'll need 12 balloons, so it's like 12 days of Christmas. Each red or green balloon needs to have the word POP ME written on it and a bow attached. After that, divide the kids into teams or allow them to hunt for balloons individually. It is the teen's responsibility to locate the balloon and pop it as soon as possible so that the gift bow can be collected. After all twelve balloons have been found, whoever has the most bows will win the game and receive a cool holiday prize.

How to Play:

  • For a small group, you’ll need 12 balloons, so it’s like 12 days of Christmas. Each red or green balloon needs to have the word POP ME written on it and a bow attached.
  • After that, divide the kids into teams or allow them to hunt for balloons individually.
  • The teen must quickly pop the balloon to collect the gift bow.
  • After finding all twelve balloons, the player with the most bows wins. For extra fun, give a holiday prize to the winner.

At the end of the round, teams present their creations, and the “little guy” (a designated judge or the youngest player) picks the most creative or funniest pretzel rod. A snowman, candycane, and gingerbread man were among the figures used. To place your feet in the craft (you can find more details with this bigfoot tutorial here), you will need to add tape.

Snowman and candy cane activity to play. This activity requires you to cut out a snowman and candy cane for props and use your feet to walk in them.

How to Play:

Two players will race across an obstacle course with a starting point and a stopping point. Depending on your preference, you could turn the obstacle course into a winter wonderland or a candyland theme.

In this game, the goal is to walk across the course as quickly as you can and reach the finish line before your opponent.

Winter Themed Game Ideas

Whether you’re looking for a hilarious Winter holiday game to play with your kids or for adults, this one’s a must-try. In conjunction with a Christmas in July party, we even used it.

Craft made out of cardboard used to create a prop for a party game with gift bows on top.

To make these holiday games, you’ll need cardboard for the feet and tons of gift bows. The winner is the player who can keep the most bows on his or her feet while walking the fastest.

Activity using gift bows that turns into a holiday game idea.

Christmas Charades and Guessing Extravaganza

Try the Christmas Charades and Guessing Extravaganza for a festive and family-friendly game that’s perfect for party guests. Start by preparing white paper cards with Christmas-related words and phrases, and place them in a bowl or hat.

Divide players into two teams, with each team taking turns. A team member draws a card and has 1 minute to act out or draw the word without using letters or numbers while their team guesses. If they guess correctly within the time limit, they earn points and possibly bonus points for quick guesses.

For an extra twist, hide pasta noodles with additional clues around the room, allowing teams to earn extra points when they find them. Continue rotating turns until all cards are used, and the team with the most points at the end wins.

This easy game combines artistic skills with festive fun, making it perfect for family enjoyment.

Christmas Noodle Relay

For a whimsical addition to your holiday festivities, try the Christmas Noodle Relay. Begin by dividing the young children into two teams. Each team gets a bowl of pasta noodles and a festive Christmas word card with a fun twist: the word could be “Snowman,” “Reindeer,” or “White Christmas.”

The game starts with the first player from each team using a spoon to transport as many pasta noodles as they can from one end of the table to the other.

However, here’s the twist—while carrying the noodles, they must follow Simon Says commands, like hopping on one foot or twirling around.

When the music stops, players have to freeze and complete a quick memory game or a fun guessing game where they identify Christmas trains or other festive items shown on flashcards.

After their turn, the next team member takes over, and the relay continues until all team members have had a chance.

The team with the most pasta noodles successfully transported and the best answers to the guessing game win a small Christmas prize, making this game a fun mix of classic game elements, creative ideas, and festive Christmas cheer with little preparation and a pasta noodle! It’s one of our favorite Christmas games for kids!

Conclusion

Get started planning your fun Christmas party games with these fun party ideas. Please enjoy these festive Christmas games or use them as inspiration to create your own holiday activities.

Consider a Secret Santa, white elephant exchange, or a Christmas carol event for added holiday fun to Christmas games for kids.

Don’t let the music stop. In addition to Christmas party fun, you could also have a Christmas movie marathon or organize a family game night.

I had such a good time last year making this Christmas ornament with my kids. These would also be easy to do with a number of children. It is certainly one of our favorite things to make ornaments with our kids. I love family-friendly Christmas activities.

Finally, you could plan a Christmas-themed craft night or baking competition.

Creating new holiday activities with our family like these is one of our favorite holiday traditions. Small activities such as these can contribute greatly to the creation of lasting holiday memories for the entire family.

I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Do you want to make your child's last day of school extra fun and start the adventure to their summer?! Check out these helpful tips and ideas.

Parents and teachers: The Best Last Day of School Ideas

There are a few reasons you might want to celebrate the end of school.

First, it’s an important part of parenting. The accomplishments of your children should be celebrated since they put so much effort into their homework, schoolwork, and after-school activities.

Second, to avoid hurt feelings. This can prevent disappointed children. It might seem as if you don’t care if your kids are always watching what all the other Pinterest moms are doing. Especially if they are looking forward to it.

And third, to establish a stronger bond with your child. Whenever a child receives praise and rewards, it boosts their self-esteem and gives them time to cherish childhood memories. Once they become parents, they will also want to share these traditions with their children.

Sharing ideas about how to make the last day of school extra fun is our favorite thing to do. It doesn’t matter what grade elementary, middle, or high school your kid is in if they love math if they hate to read if they take virtual classes all day or sit in a classroom all day, making the last day of school activities special is always appreciated by them.

Last Days of School Countdown Activities – 5 Easy Methods

Kids are getting restless, and teachers are counting down the days until the end of the school year. With these easy steps, I will teach you how to make the Last Day of School extra fun.

Explore the best last day of school traditions for kids and helpful ideas for parents and teachers to create lasting memories for the end of the year!

Here are five popular methods:

#1 – Countdown Calendar

Plan a spirit week countdown calendar featuring PJ days, dress-up days, popcorn/movie days, and inspirational messages.

#2 – Balloon Pop Countdown

This activity involves writing different activities on slips of paper and putting them inside balloons you display in the classroom. Students pop a balloon each day and complete the fun activity inside.

#3 – Chain Countdown

A chain link countdown is similar to the field trip paper chain or balloon pop countdown, but instead of balloon pops, it uses chain links. Construction paper sliced into small strips and woven together creates a playful concept to ignite excitement in kids as they approach the finish line.

#4 – days of Celebrating You

In the last days of school, a teacher celebrates the accomplishment of one student in her class every day. You could also do this by creating a scavenger hunt, stem challenges, or another great idea would be creating a memory book.

#5 – Elementary ABC Countdown

With 26 days left in school, you can take advantage of the time to do academic twists and review your alphabet using Alphabet Countdown Ideas.

As an example, you could have the children bring in their favorite things such as a stuffed animal for letter A (Animals) or make paper airplanes for letter A (Airplanes).

My 10th grader, my fourth-grader, and my 7th grader are all so eager to be done with homework, and I am too! LOL. In reality, the last day of school party ideas is a fun way to be in the holiday spirit, no matter the grade level.

It an easy way for 1st grade, future students, incoming students, graduating seniors, or celebrating your child’s accomplishments at the end of a school year.

End of School Year Activities: 5 Effective Tips

Make the last week of school memorable with an ice cream party! Add to the fun by making a bulletin board filled with a sticky note sharing the best moments from the past year. It’s a simple yet enjoyable way to reflect on memories and look forward to the next school year.

1. Begin Summer Break by Making a Banner

This way, your student can anticipate summer vacation with a fun surprise. You get to run through the banner or streamers as you get off the bus, and it’s a great way to wrap up the school year. It’s important to have lots of different banner ideas, so they don’t get bored. If they’re not motivated by a sign, try using silly string instead.

Banner Tip!

As an alternative to a banner, these streamers are a lot of fun to run through – and let me assure you, I am 100% serious. This year I am using them again. In general, I use two of my children’s favorite colors or the school’s colors to foster school spirit.

My role as a mom and foster mother is to make the final day of school special for my kids. It is a fun idea and a way for me to show my kids how proud I am of them, and I want to make sure their hard work does not go unnoticed.

Every school year, I try to make learning fun and reward my kids for their hard work with activities such as getting off the bus and knocking down a fun DIY to start Christmas break.

Another fun idea for things to do on the last day of school is to break a banner made of streamers. As well as, we like to invite students from the neighborhood to share in the last day of school activity too.

2. Surprise Your Child With the Last Day of School Sign

For optimal results, having a creative sign with a memorable message is key. Moreover, ensure the sign is easily visible from the road, so when students exit their car or step off the school bus, it adds to the excitement of the experience.

For example, when my son graduated from pre-k (Preschool ideas) and when my daughter finished kindergarten. During the last day of school, I decorated our porch with a last day of school sign that read, “School’s Out for Summer!”

I also added colored circles I got from Dollar Tree (I used painter’s tape–it won’t peel the paint off!)

3. Oh, the Places You’ll Go

What are some ways to celebrate school year memories? Are you familiar with the book, Oh, the Places You’ll Go? This is a book from Dr. Seuss that your child’s teacher signs every year throughout elementary school, middle school, and high school. The book makes for a fun graduation present.

4. Last Day of School Activities: Surprise Pool Float

If you live in a beach town or have a pool in the backyard consider surprising them with a pool party. The great thing is going to five and below and picking up super cheap and creative pool floats. If you are super busy and don’t have time to get out and need to shop online you can easily find best selling swimming party toys here.

Here is an example for the last day of class for my middle school students. I picked up pool floats (inflated them) and attached Five and Below gift cards. After they got off the bus, we had five inflatables that made quite a splash!

Get your hands on a pool float that is out of this world! Grab this UFO pool float here before they sell out!

Inflated pool floats were attached with gift cards from Five and Below for a surprise on the last day of school.

You could also try using water balloons instead. When you do not own a pool at home, this will be a great way for you to cool off, create summer excitement, and even popular games with friendly competition.

5. The Best Last Day of School Shirt Ideas

The last day of school t-shirts is available at all price points, whether you make them yourself or have them customized. You can get your classmates to sign your shirts or ask for their autographs if you arrange a fun shirt signing.

The best option is to wear white t-shirts or old shirts. A permanent marker works best for this, but it’s completely optional.

Different personalities exist in the class, so make sure the teacher is aware of the signatures to ensure the messages are appropriate.

Having teachers sign the backs of your shirts is also a great keepsake – choose one marker and keep it with you throughout the day. You may even get the principal to sign it.

Here are some ideas for students and teachers for what to include on the front of your t-shirt design:

  1. Peace Out School
  2. Out of Third Grade
  3. Summer #HappyLastDay
  4. I Love You All CLASS DISMISSED
  5. Happy Last Day of School
  6. Teacher Mode OFF
  7. It’s the Last Day Y’ALL
  8. Straight Outta High School
  9. Dear Parents, TAG! YOU’RE IT! Love, Teachers
  10. We Out. – Teachers

The Best VBS Games for Kids

When I was a kid, I loved playing all sorts of fun games! Whether we were camping or hanging out at home, we always had a blast. Sometimes we’d have themed games, like ones about Bigfoot, and other times we’d play classic card games like UNO or games that came in tins.

Sunday School Prizes:

Giving out gifts, hosting giveaways, distributing incentives, awarding prizes, and creating games to win prizes are some of our favorite activities to do for kids and adults. Here is a selection of our biggest hits for prizes at Sunday school.

Let’s dive and kick off the fun and discover the perfect games to add excitement to your VBS experience!

Glowing Faith: DIY Bowling Fun for Church

DIY glow bowling is an exciting and creative game that combines the thrill of bowling with the enchantment of glowing lights. Using simple materials like empty bottles, water, and jumbo glow sticks, participants create their glowing bowling pins.

Players take turns rolling a ball to knock down the illuminated pins, creating a visually stunning and engaging experience.

Whether played indoors or outdoors, DIY glow bowling adds a unique twist to traditional bowling, making it perfect for parties, youth events, or family gatherings. It’s a fantastic way to bring youth together for some glowing fun while celebrating faith and fellowship.

Here’s how to get in on the fun of DIY Glow in the Dark Bowling:

Grab 10 empty bottles of Powerade Zero or a similar drink. Fill each bottle about 2/3 of the way with water, then add some jumbo glow sticks to each bottle.

Now, it’s time to roll! Grab a ball and start knocking down those glowing pins.

Congratulations! You’ve just created your very own DIY glow-in-the-dark bowling game. Get ready for an epic party game that shines bright for Jesus! 🎳✨

FINDING JESUS: An Exciting Party Challenge

Imagine the excitement as kids uncover hidden messages from Jesus during this intriguing game! To play, you’ll need an invisible ink marker and LED black lights. Before the kids embark on their daily VBS adventure, write secret messages on white paper, as shown in the picture, and hang them on the wall.

Praise the Lord! We have cool games for VBS!

Tip: At the beginning of this activity, keep the LED lights hidden from the children. Ask them to take a look around and see if they can spot any messages from Jesus. Let them know that Jesus is sending them messages and challenge them to find them. During this initial stage of the game, nobody will be able to see the messages.

Now, it’s time for the second part of the activity. Give the kids the LED lights and invite them to search again. This time, they’ll discover the secret messages from Jesus on the wall. These messages could say things like “I’m here!” or “I love you! – Jesus.”

As an added twist, include Bible verses among the messages for the kids to find during their search for secret messages from God. This adds an extra layer of excitement and reinforces the spiritual aspect of the activity.

This activity is crucial because it teaches children that even though Jesus may not be visible, he is always present with them. This important message reinforces the idea of Jesus’ constant presence and serves as a comforting reminder of his love and guidance in their lives.

FAITHFUL MELODIES: Musical Chairs at VBS

Musical Chairs is a timeless and enjoyable game that kids love playing at parties. It’s simple to set up since you likely have chairs readily available. Plus, for events like Vacation Bible School or Sunday school, adding a Christian twist by playing Christian-themed songs during Musical Chairs can make it even more enjoyable and meaningful for the children.

Dive into Refreshing Fun: Water Balloon Activities for VBS!

Using water balloons at VBS adds an extra element of fun and excitement to the activities. They are a simple and inexpensive way to engage children in interactive games and challenges that help reinforce key lessons and themes of VBS.

Water balloon games encourage teamwork, physical activity, and creativity while providing a refreshing break from indoor activities.

Additionally, they create memorable experiences that children will associate with their time at VBS, fostering a sense of enjoyment and enthusiasm for learning about their faith.

Overall, water balloons add a splash of joy and energy to VBS that enhances the overall experience for participants.

#1 Fruit of the Spirit Relay

Divide the children into teams and set up a relay race course. Each team member must carry a water balloon representing one of the fruits of the Spirit (love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control) to a designated point and back without popping it.

The team that completes the relay without bursting any balloons wins. As they play, discuss how each fruit of the Spirit reflects Jesus’ teachings and how they can embody these qualities in their lives.

#2 Walking on Water Challenge

Set up a kiddie pool or large basin filled with water and scatter blue balloons on the surface to represent the sea. Place a narrow plank or balance beam across the pool.

Children will need to take turns trying to walk across the “water” (balloons) without stepping on any balloons and “sinking.”

As they play, discuss the story of Jesus walking on water and the importance of having faith and trusting in Him, even when faced with challenges.

#3 Miraculous Memory Game

Fill several water balloons with water and write different Bible verses or key phrases related to Jesus’ miracles on them. Scatter the balloons around the play area. Children will take turns popping a balloon and reading the verse or phrase aloud.

Then, they must act out or discuss the miracle described. This VBS game helps reinforce the stories of Jesus’ miracles and encourages children to remember and reflect on His teachings.

#4 Noah’s Ark Relay

Divide the children into teams, and designate one player from each team as “Noah.” Set up a starting line and a finish line, with a large bucket of water balloons placed at the starting line.

On “go,” the first player from each team races to the bucket, grabs a water balloon, and carries it carefully to the finish line, mimicking Noah gathering animals for the ark.

Once they reach the finish line, they pass the balloon to the next teammate, who repeats the process. The first team to transport all their “animals” (water balloons) across the finish line wins. As they play, discuss the story of Noah’s Ark and the importance of obedience and trust in God’s plan.

#5 The Living Water Challenge

Set up a relay race course with several stations, each representing a different aspect of Jesus’ ministry. For example, you could have stations for “Jesus Heals,” “Jesus Teaches,” “Jesus Feeds,” etc.

At each station, children must complete a task or answer a question related to the theme before moving on to the next station. To add a water balloon element, incorporate a water balloon toss or target practice at each station.

For example, at the “Jesus Walks on Water” station, children must try to toss a water balloon into a “boat” (a bucket or container) floating in a kiddie pool. This game reinforces key lessons from Jesus’ ministry while providing a fun and interactive experience for the children.

#6 Water Balloon Toss: A Splashy Game of Faith

Gather two teams and have each player stand across from their partner. Take turns tossing a water balloon back and forth, trying to catch it without breaking it. The last team (or player) with an intact balloon wins!

As the balloons inevitably burst, remind the children that just like balloons fall, we all make mistakes. But being a Christian means knowing that Jesus is there to catch us when we fall. It’s a fun way to learn an important lesson about faith!

Biblical Board Games: Fun for VBS!

At Vacation Bible School (VBS), you can play a variety of board games that are both entertaining and educational. Some popular options include:

  1. Bible Trivia: Test participants’ knowledge of Bible stories, characters, and verses with a trivia board game.
  2. Bible Bingo: Play a game of bingo using Bible-themed cards with pictures or words related to stories from the Bible.
  3. Creation Matching Game: Create a matching game with cards featuring images or descriptions of each day of the creation story from Genesis.
  4. Fruit of the Spirit Race: Design a board game where players race to collect fruit tokens representing each of the fruits of the Spirit mentioned in Galatians 5:22-23.
  5. Jericho Wall Puzzle: Create a puzzle game where players work together to assemble a picture of the walls of Jericho and discuss the story of Joshua and the Battle of Jericho as they play.
  6. Noah’s Ark Adventure: Design a game board depicting Noah’s Ark and have players move their pieces around the board. While collecting pairs of animals and discussing the story of Noah and the flood.
  7. Ten Commandments Challenge: Create a board game where players navigate through various challenges and obstacles related to the Ten Commandments, reinforcing their understanding of God’s laws.
  8. Parable Path: Develop a game board inspired by the parables of Jesus, with players moving their pieces along a path and encountering different scenarios from the parables as they progress.

These board games provide a fun and interactive way for children to learn about biblical stories, themes, and principles while enjoying the fellowship of their peers during VBS.

Carnival Cruise Secrets: Navigating Adventures and Budgets for an Unforgettable Voyage

Step into the enchanting realm of Carnival Cruises, a world where thrilling adventures and serene relaxation converge! As you eagerly anticipate the open seas, we’re here to guide you with valuable tips that not only elevate your cruise experience but also help you navigate the waters of budget-conscious travel.

From clever booking strategies to practical onboard savings, our goal is to make your Carnival Cruise both unforgettable and cost-effective. So, as you embark on this maritime journey, may your experiences be rich, your memories lasting, and your wallet happily intact.

First Time Cruiser Tips

I want to tell you how to save money while sailing through the ocean or out to sea. A secret tip is not to use the ATM on the ship.

The fees could be well over $10 per transaction. That is a lot, but I guess they call it supply and demand, right? However, there are ways around it. Check out these carnival cruise casino tips!

Head to the Casino and purchase chips (like you’re going to play the slot machine or Black Jack) instead of playing a game or hitting the slots. Just take them up to the cashier and check out. The fee will be much lower, and you’ll save a bunch of money by doing this.

If you purchase lottery tickets at the Casino. Be sure to scratch them and check for winnings while you’re still on the boat! You will not be able to cash it in after you get off the ship.

Second, while you are at the Carnival Casino, ask the cashier to punch a hole into your Ship and Sale card, and they will also give you a lanyard to wear around your neck for FREE! No more worries about your card falling out of your pocket!

First time Carnival Cruise Tips for beginner travelers! #travel #cruise #momlife #carnival

Third, if you feel nauseous or forgot Dramamine, go to the information desk, and they will give your Dramamine for FREE (the same stuff they sell onboard in the souvenir/gift shop)!

Update: Carnival Elation wanted to charge $1 for Dramamine at the information desk. I don’t know if this change has been made across the cruise line, but I wanted to update just in case.

That’s not all! If you get bored, here are some carnival cruise secrets. Please stop by the information desk (or while you’re already there) ask them for a deck of playing cards and some postcards to send to family and friends back home! Again those items will be FREE! Woot! LOL

Smooth Sailing: Essential Carnival Cruise Tips for First-Time Passengers

  1. Book Early:
    • Carnival often offers early booking discounts, so try to book your cruise well in advance to secure the best prices.
  2. Pack Wisely:
    • Pack essentials such as swimwear, sunscreen, formal wear (for elegant nights), and any necessary medications.
    • Check Carnival’s dress code for dining options to ensure you have appropriate attire.
  3. Arrive Early on Embarkation Day:
    • Arriving early helps avoid long lines and allows you to start enjoying the ship’s amenities sooner.
  4. Download the Carnival Hub App:
    • This app provides a daily schedule of activities, dining options, and allows you to communicate with fellow passengers.
  5. Consider Faster to the Fun (FTTF):
    • This is a paid option that provides perks like priority embarkation, early access to staterooms, and a dedicated guest services line.
  6. Explore Dining Options:
    • Take advantage of the various dining options, including the main dining room, specialty restaurants, and casual eateries. Some restaurants may have additional fees.
  7. Participate in Onboard Activities:
    • Carnival offers a wide range of activities, from shows and live entertainment to games and themed parties. Check the daily schedule for events that interest you.
  8. Attend the Muster Drill:
    • It’s mandatory, but it’s also essential for your safety. Pay attention to the instructions given during the drill.
  9. Bring a Power Strip and/or USB Hub:
    • Cabins often have limited power outlets, so bringing a power strip or USB hub can be handy for charging devices.
  10. Stay Hydrated:
    • Carnival provides water, lemonade, and iced tea for free, but other beverages may come with an additional cost. Consider purchasing a beverage package if you plan to consume a lot of non-alcoholic or alcoholic drinks.
  11. Book Shore Excursions in Advance:
    • Popular excursions can sell out quickly, so it’s advisable to book your shore excursions in advance to secure your spot.
  12. Be Mindful of the Cruise Tipping Policy:
    • Carnival has an automatic gratuity system, but you may want to bring some cash for additional tipping, especially if you receive exceptional service.
  13. Stay Informed About Time Changes:
    • Some ports may be in different time zones, so keep track of time changes to avoid missing the ship.

Remember to check Carnival’s official website for the latest information and policies. Enjoy your cruise!

Wrapping Up Tips for Going on a Carnival Cruise

The best tip for beginner cruisers! Did you know that in the dining room you could order more than one entrée and three appetizers if you want?!

For example, if you don’t like the dessert. My husband loves cheesecake, but for another idea, easily order something else at no extra charge. Plus, if you miss your dinner reservation time, it’s okay. They can still accommodate you. You may have a little more of a wait.

Good Luck and Happy Cruising!

Have you been on a cruise and want to share tips with other cruisers? Please feel free to leave them in the comments below! Happy Sailing!

Nothing screams summer quite like the refreshing, juicy bite of watermelon. But why settle for slices when you can transform this favorite fruit into something even more enchanting? Watermelon on a stick isn’t just a treat; it’s a magical experience perfect for any summer celebration.

Summer fruit pops made out of watermelon star wand.

Watermelon Star Wands: A Twinkle of Taste

Imagine holding a wand that not only sparkles with whimsy but also bursts with flavor. That’s the magic of the Watermelon star wand—a delightful twist on the classic way to enjoy this summer staple. Whether it’s adding a dash of charm to the 4th of July festivities, creating memorable moments at a fairytale gathering, bringing wizard parties to life, or simply enticing kids to delight in fun fruits, the star-shaped watermelon on a stick is your go-to party food this season.

Prepare to dazzle your guests and make eating fruit an enchanting experience. Grab some skewers, and let’s turn watermelons into stars!

Watermelon Star Wand

We love these watermelon star wands. There are so many creative ways to make fresh fruit kabobs. If you haven’t seen how daring this shark mouth carving is, it is a must-see for sure! Plus, these watermelon Christmas trees are fun for Christmas in July.

A Watermelon star wand is very easy to make, and here are the following items needed.

This magic wand fruit pop turned into a watermelon star wand is a fun party food idea.

Supplies

  • Watermelon
  • Knife
  • Cutting board
  • Cake Pop Sticks
  • Blueberries
  • Black Grapes
  • Star Cookie Cutter

Get ready to learn how to make a watermelon star wand with these easy steps!

How to make star shapes in watermelon.
  1. Cut the watermelon in half and then in slices.
  2. Take a star cookie cutter and make star cutouts of the watermelon.
  3. We added blueberries and black grapes to the cake stick. We choose to add six blueberries because they were smaller and four black grapes. After all, they were a little bigger, and that was the amount that could fit on our stick. 🙂
  4. Lastly, you will add the cutout star-shaped watermelon to the top of the cake stick, and this will become your magic watermelon wand.
It turns into a Watermelon Star Wand or a watermelon fruit wand whichever you prefer.

This idea is so fun for a kid’s party, but even adults get a kick out of it too. I didn’t come up with this idea but was inspired by a birthday party I attended with fun-shaped watermelon wands.

If you look the idea up on Pinterest, you will find some really cool ideas that people have put together. For example, I saw fruit kabobs made out of grapes, strawberries, and watermelon and even fruit wands with cheese incorporated into them.

Fruit wands that are watermelon.

I hope you find a way to cut your fruit into fun shapes. Suppose you haven’t seen how to build a Mr. Potato head out of fruit. This is too cool for school!

What are foster family support groups?

Until a child’s birth parents are able to care for him or her, foster parents provide a stable and supportive home for that child. Most of the time, foster parents work with social workers to reunite the child with his or her biological parents. Some foster parents care for more than one child.

But sometimes, there are just things that we can’t prevent. We all want reunification to happen, but sometimes circumstances prevent it from happening.

Foster family support groups are groups of foster families that come together to provide support and resources to other families. They provide an opportunity to share experiences, express feelings, and receive advice from other foster families. Sometimes they’ll share ideas for free stuff for foster families too!

They also provide a safe space for foster families to find a sense of community and support.

What is foster family training?

Foster family training provides foster families with the skills, knowledge, and resources needed to provide supportive and nurturing homes for foster children.

The training covers topics such as child development, trauma and attachment, parenting skills, and self-care. It helps foster families to be prepared for the unique challenges that come with caring for foster children.

Is there a reason why the FAFSA asks if I have ever been in foster care?

It is asked in order to provide applicants in foster care with additional information regarding assistance through Federal programs. This question is offered to all students applying online, but it is not mandatory. Dependency status does not change based on responses.

Many states in the US have special funds to assist foster children in paying for college. In almost all states in the US, there are special programs that assist children adopted from foster care in paying for their college education. In some states, scholarships cover the entire cost of college tuition, while in others, tuition waivers are offered.

In addition, Disney does offer a “Magical Giveback” program that allows guests to donate their unused theme park tickets to charity. This program allows guests to donate their unused tickets to those in need.

Walt Disney World also offers a “Give a Day, Get a Disney Day” program, which allows guests to volunteer with a local charity and receive a free Disney day ticket.

Ultimately, Disney’s donation programs help to ensure that their theme parks remain magical and that those in need receive help. As well, the Not so Scary Halloween Party and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party have slightly lower-priced tickets versus regular admission if that helps.

Tip: Disney Springs is free to get into for anyone and has free parking! Get access to lots of stores, restaurants, and entertainment there!

We love visiting  Disney Springs (which use to be Downtown Disney); each year, we travel to Orlando!

Fun Tip!

There’s no doubt that you’ll want to watch this Disney movie based on foster care if you’ve never seen it! After all, it’s the perfect way to spend a rainy day – with popcorn and tissues!

Foster Care Rates

Current and proposed foster care rates: The current monthly rate paid to foster families for “Relative and Family Foster Care” the proposed rate will increase from $500 to $1,000 per child, per month depending on the state.

This rate would cover the cost of food, clothing, and other basic needs for the children. It would also provide caregiving families with additional resources to support their foster children.

It’s easy to make a fruit tray with bees since you can make them in so many different shapes and sizes. This design was inspired by a baby shower that had a bee and willow snack tray table. It was so cute!

Creating a Honey Bee Tray can be a fun and easy party theme if you’re looking for a buzzy idea.

Are you a busy bee wondering what kind of fruit tray you would make under time constraints? If so, wonder no more!

Let us take a look at some of the key attributes of a honey tray that will have your guests drooling!

But first…

Honey Bee Tray

What Is Honey Bee Tray?

This honey bee tray looks like a fruit platter with a bee theme.

The result is a fruit bee consisting of pineapple, strawberries, black grapes, and honeydew.

It’s one of the easiest ways to make a bee fruit dessert! Several elaborate recipes for fruit platters can be found on Pinterest, but I prefer simple and fun ideas like this bumble bee fruit platter.

Making a bee fruit tray isn’t too difficult to do. Preparing your fruit to be diced and cleaned before assembling just takes a few minutes.

Bee Fruit Tray Ingredients

  • Grapes – black fruit
  • Pineapple – yellow fruit
  • Strawberries – red fruit
  • Honeydew – green fruit
  • Leaf Lettuce – Contrast

The first thing you need to do is lay out the lettuce leaves.

The first step is putting the leaf lettuce down for the bee fruit tray.

Next, you will add the pineapples. The easiest part is to lay out the wings first.

Your next step will be to cover the honeybee’s body in black grapes. I think black raspberries would work nicely too. The dark purple grape varieties aren’t quite as dark as bumblebees but may work if needed. The spaces between the bee’s body (pineapples) must be filled with black grapes. As you can see, the platter is beginning to resemble a bee.

In my case, I used an oval platter for the bee tray, but I think a rectangular platter would also work well. It was in the party decor section of Dollar Tree where I found my platter.

Keep the black and yellow shape but fill the rest of the tray with strawberries and honeydew. Adding more fruit always makes your fruit tray look better.

To complement the red fruit, you can also use green grapes or kiwi. You can choose whichever fruit you prefer or is in season where you live.

Conclusion

Honey bee trays make a great addition to your spring and summer decor – perfect for a bee themed dessert tray, a baby shower, a birthday party centerpiece, a garden party, a flower decor party, a farmhouse party, or an outdoor barbecue. If you want, you can even turn it into a hive tray.

I love this bee and snack tray table idea. You don’t need to spray the fruit trees with bee safe fruit tree spray to be around this insect, lol. Additionally, you could also have a honey dipper flowing with honey next to it or make it into a honeycomb shape. Whatever you do I’m sure it’s going to look super cool.

What fruit platters have you made? What kind of food have you served at parties?

Take on the challenge of making an American classic grilled cheese sandwich. But this time it’s colorful, and it’s even more fun to make with the kids! The kids voted it to be the best grilled cheese they’ve ever eaten. The most fun of all.

Ingredients

  • Bread
  • Butter
  • Red and Blue Food Coloring
  • Mozzarella Cheese

First, take about a cup of Mozzarella Cheese and add it to a Ziploc bag.

Next, add red food coloring to the cheese in the sandwich bag and mix it.

It’s possible to mix the cheese and food coloring in a bowl, but I found that mixing it in the bag made it much easier. Less messy, that’s for sure!

Put a line of red mozzarella cheese, then use mozzarella cheese in the middle and the blue mozzarella cheese for the bottom row. This way when you cut the sandwich in half the colors will show through like the picture below.

You will need to do the same thing with the blue food coloring. Place it in a bag, but be sure to keep the colored cheese separate.

After that, you will apply the cheese to the bread, starting with red at the top, white in the middle, and blue on the bottom row.

Red White and Blue Sandwich Food Recipe

Are you ready to create this delicious melted red, white, and blue-themed grilled cheese sandwich? Your kids are going to flip with delight! My kids could not wait to eat theirs!

  1. Heat 1 tablespoon of butter in a nonstick skillet over medium heat.
  2. Press the sandwich slightly together and add to the pan.
  3. You will want to cook each side until golden brown and until the cheese is melted. This takes about 3-5 minutes.

Rainbow Grilled Cheese

This Red White and Blue Grilled Cheese make a fun twist on a classic grilled cheese sandwich. This is great for a picnic lunch, dinner, or snack. These ideas will be sure to captivate and bring out the red, white, and blue.

If you want to turn the sandwich into a rainbow grilled cheese, easily change the colors for a rainbow pattern. We hope you enjoy this idea!
